Reflection Exercise

Self Assesment Reflection Exercise

Attention / Conduct in Class.

Up until now, from the start of the year I believe that I have not done too much carring on and messing about. I have however distracted other in the class from time to time. Most of the time I am well behaved and as a result I am not told off much by the teacher. I try hard to listen to every thing my teacher says. If I do not hear what the teacher said I will kindly ask him to repeat what he said for my benefit.

- Academic Performance.

In the first acedemic class test of the year I did quite well and I was three marks off passing it. I did pass the test though on the second attempt during one of my free classes. In the second class test, I achieved a much higher mark 40/50 and I was pleased with the mark. In the later tests towards the end of 2006 I performed well in the two tests given and passed both of them. The last two tests were a little bit harder than the earlier ones, so I got more satisfaction out of passing them.

- Practical Skills Acquired

I have acquired various different skills on the coputer. I have learned how to word process fully, I have learned various different techniques on spreadsheets and I also now know how to use a database. Although I know how to use all of these pieces of software, I have not really practiced using them enough for me to be fairly fluent in them. In the future I could put aside certain amounts of time each week to practice the various different skills I have used. This time would also be very good revision for my exam at the end of the year as my exam mostly entails the use of word, excel, access and powerpoint.

- Time Spent Out of Class

I have spent a lot of time at home on the computer doing homeworks when they are given. In scool I feel like there are too many distractions for me to work on assignments in the school study, library or even the classroom itself. Because of this most of my homework is done a home. This does not bother me at all as I find it a lot easier to work at home. The only thing I find hard while working at home is the distraction of the fully accessible internet whereas in school most of the distracting sites are blocked.

- Responsibility for Own learning

I rarely, or rather never came to class without knowing my password for either the C2K nor the Legacy computer systems or even the class blog. I believe I have never forgotten to bring my books to class each day I have Applied IT. in saying all this I have also rarely gone to the classroom during the free periods, however there are computers available in the lower study and from time to time I would use them for work. I have not been off since the beginning of the year and the only time I ever miss class is when I am attending a gaelic mach. On those occasions I have checked the blog to see what work I have missed.
